I finally have the kids in bed and I am looking around at my disaster of a house and have no desire to clean it. Raising kids is exhausting!!! I wish there were more hours in the day to try the long list of things I've been wanting to try for a long time:)Scott and Ellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09674034730366513804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945867658721916611.post-90698322191514490112011-03-18T21:05:06.870-05:002011-03-18T21:05:06.870-05:00Mel!! Thanks for your comment on my facebook. I ju...Mel!! Thanks for your comment on my facebook. I just wanted to check out the blog to see what you have been up to and I LOVED this post. I also loved what Krista said (you do SO SO MANY amazing things...but probably spend more time playing with your kiddos than posting). I feel the exact same way about so many SAHM's blogs- including yours! Miss you and so glad you are doing well :)Jen Richardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00948035912163261588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945867658721916611.post-29705803542086790762011-03-08T11:32:17.279-06:002011-03-08T11:32:17.279-06:00Um...EXCUSE ME, miss Martha Stewart cake decorator...Um...EXCUSE ME, miss Martha Stewart cake decorator extraordinaire...!! 99% of the moms I know can't do that! Give yourself some credit. I can't answer for anyone else, but if I actually want to make some time for myself, doing something I enjoy, it requires me to totally ignore my kids and their million requests for attention. I have found that I can either be engaged with my kids, or do things I enjoy, but it is really hard for me to do both. (As I am typing this, Allie is in my face trying to get me to make something out of Bendaroos and what am I doing? Pretty much ignoring her.)And who cares if you don't serve gourmet meals every day. Chances are, the kids won't ever care or notice. I have just had to learn to forgive myself, and accept that I am not perfect, or anywhere close to it, and I just have to be ok with that. If you really are taking time to get down and play with your kids, kudos to you. That is one thing I have a really hard time with. Never compare yourself with others. You never know what the real story is. But I am with you, I sort of cringe when people take time to take pictures of meals they have made, or dinner parties they have thrown and then blog about them. I sort of makes me scratch my head, and I just ask myself, why?? You are doing a better job than you think- cut yourself some slack.Kristahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11669181872565382194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945867658721916611.post-85848582317711177422011-03-07T19:50:42.030-06:002011-03-07T19:50:42.030-06:00It's all a facade. Seriously! Many are not getting on the floor and playing or letting their kids help out in the kitchen like you do. Their kids are parked in front of the TV or mom is too busy doing her crafty stuff or blogging to spend quality time with the kiddos. So, don't feel guilty! You are an amazing mom and your kids will always remember the one on one time they got to spend with their awesome mom. Enjoy every minute of it because they grow up WAY too fast.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945867658721916611.post-26700512780696279392011-03-06T22:45:26.615-06:002011-03-06T22:45:26.615-06:00lol. I'm glad I am not the only one who forgets to brush my teeth. And I can only seem to get my hair washed every three days! kind gross...Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09276106144722120758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945867658721916611.post-17629495519708152812011-03-06T18:16:55.056-06:002011-03-06T18:16:55.056-06:00I hear ya sister!
